DCE ENGAGES ELDERS OF TSIBU AWUDOME

On Monday 6th February 2023, a delegation of elders from Tsibu Awudome paid courtesy call on the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau at the District Assembly.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the infrastructure deficit of the Tsibu Technical Institute and other developments within the community.

The delegation consists of Togbe Fotsu III, Regent of Tsibu; Mama Adzadi Bea II; Queen Mother of Tsibu; Mr. Dzadzra Enoch, Tsibu Technical Institute – SMC Chairman, Togbe Percy Peyi, SCM Member, Kole Kodzo, Elder and Mama Dome, Elder.

The Regent of Tsibu, Togbe Fotsu III expressed his appreciation to the government for granting them a Technical Institute under the ongoing goverment Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program. He revealed a number of issues regarding the infrastructure  state of the Technical Institute, which he called on the District Assembly and District Education Directorate to reorganise the facility. 

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau thanked the elders for the visit. He noted that with the introduction of TVET, it will help the youth to equip themselves with relevant skills and knowledge to make them contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the district and the country at large.

According to the DCE, the District Assembly in collaboration with the District Education Directorate will hold an engagement with the community to assess the situation and know the way forward.

The meeting also discussed the need for communities to desist from unauthorise private burials in order to prevent the pollution of underground water in the district.

Togbe Fotsu III applauded the DCE for the warm reception.
